Firestopping

Firestopping is one of the most critical performance characteristics of Fibrex products. Basalt mineral fibers have a melting point in excess of 2100F and thus are ideally suited for products used in passive fire rated systems. Fibrex products, when installed as part of appropriate fire-rated systems, prevent the spread of fire and smoke from one room to another or from one floor to another.
