Safing Insulation

Fibrex Safing Insulation is a semi-rigid product that provides superior fire resistance properties when installed between the exterior wall system and floor slab, in service penetration or joint firestop systems. It is manufactured from basaltic rock, utilizing patented technology, with a melting point in excess of 2,000°F (1,093°C). The fibers are bonded and preformed into a self-supporting semi-rigid board.

Fibrex Safing Insulation's superior handleability means that the material is clean and can be easily fabricated for use in firestop systems and installed resulting in reduced labor costs.
